About Us

Who We Are

We are a small, non-profit animal rescue organization located in central Florida that provides sanctuary for and specializes in caring for largely non-adoptable stray cats and dogs. Most are either old, have medical problems, are feral, or have behavior problems that has precluded them from being adopted.

Our organization consists of all volunteers and relies solely on public donations to buy food and to provide medical care for the animals. 100% of all donations go to help the animals. There are no employees,  no administration fees and no professional fund-raisers to pay.

Tax Status

1. PetRescue.Com, Inc. is a Florida non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. Our state registration number is SC-05677.
2. We have I.R.S. tax-exempt status (EIN 59-3182542). Any donations made to us are fully tax-deductible in the United States.

Mission

1. To pursue the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless animals.
2. To provide no-kill sanctuary for cats and dogs in need.
3. To pursue the placement of adoptable animals.
4. To provide long-term care for the aged, infirm, and non-adoptable animals.
5. To promote low-cost spay/neuter programs.
6. To participate in feral cat fix-release programs where appropriate

Process

Preparation. Rescued animals are prepared for their new life. They are evaluated by our veterinarian, given the necessary medical attention, and nursed back to health. All of them are spayed or neutered so they will not perpetuate the tragedy they have suffered.

Adoption. When ready, the animals are advertised for adoption in local newspapers and publications. Prospective adopters are visited in their home and interviewed. We want the same level of commitment from them as we expect from ourselves. An adoption agreement is signed for the protection of the pet.

Long Term Care. The aged, infirm, and non-adoptable animals are cared for by us in perpetuity. We only euthanize the sick and suffering when there is no quality of life left.
